CERT Basic Training - 20 Hour Course

Tuesday Series - April 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, May 7th - 6PM-9:30PM at
Contra Costa Animal Services Class Room, 4800 Imhoff Place
Skills Exercise - The course concludes with a skills exercise on Saturday June 1st, 8AM-3PM

Rescue - Victim Extrication using Cribbing and Leveraging
|
In this hands-on exercise, participants will perform leveraging and cribbing to remove victims who are trapped by debris.
Course Prerequisites: CERT Basic Training
CERT Emergency Communications Training is for CERT graduates (and those currently enrolled in the Basic Training class) who want to learn how to properly operate FRS/GMRS radios for use in a drill or disaster response. The goal is to encourage all CERT members to learn the skills needed for proper radio operations.
Course Prerequisites: CERT Basic Training
Fundamentals of Net Control is an intermediate-level class for radio operators who want to learn how to properly run a radio net during a drill, emergency response, or a routine practice net. This class is applicable to all forms of radio communications, including Amateur Radio and FRS/GMRS radio nets.

CERT Animal Response - Presented by the Concord CERT
Saturday June 16th, 9AM-5PM at Concord Police Department, Community Meeting Room,
1350 Galindo Street, Concord

The focus of this course will be on preparation for situations involving animals that CERT members may encounter during a response.

Introductory class on ropes, pulleys, mechanical advantage, anchors, and belay systems.
Course Prerequisites: Rescue Ropes and Knots
CERT Triage Refresher is a class that will teach you the principles and process for sorting injured people into groups based on their need for or likely benefit from immediate medical treatment. Triage is used at disaster sites when limited medical resources must be allocated. This hands-on exercise will allow you to practice conducting triage in a high-pressure situation.
