Thank you to Fire Chief Lewis Broschard and his team for offering us an in-depth look at the 2019 Wildland Fire Season Planning. Martinez is not only in the Fire Hazard Zone for Contra Costa County, it’s also in the Very High Fire Hazard Zone. Earthquakes: Improving Preparedness, Mitigation and Resilience

We attended an Earthquake Country Alliance workshop where we learned about the activities of several organizations, including the USGS’ work on tracking aftershocks.

The California Public Utilities Commission worked with CAL FIRE and others to develop a Fire-Threat Map of California. The map shows places with a high risk of wildfires that could put people and property in danger. Additionally, PG&E has introduced an app that allows the public to report non-emergency safety concerns in high risks areas related to PG&E electrical equipment. Visit PG&E's Report It.
