CERT Basic Training is about 20 hours, and is generally held in person. However, COVID-19 and subsequent safety rules have rewritten our normal procedures.
Martinez CERT is excited to resume our in-person Fall Training classes (more info shortly). Instructors and Attendees will be practicing social distancing, and personal mask use is required. We are offering a series of six Tuesday evening classes, or a Weekend Marathon Class. Here’s a handy flyer!
The State of California is also working with the University of Utah to create a hybrid CERT learning environment with part of the training online and part in person (as local circumstances allow).
Meanwhile, we’re offering our Personal Emergency Preparedness and our new Earthquake Hazard Mitigation (Secure Your Space) classes online. In partnership with the Contra Costa County Library, we’re also offering a weekly Lunch & Learn series on various short and timely topics.
For those who’d like the whole training in written form, FEMA offers the updated CERT Training Manual online.
