FALL 2026 Free CERT Basic Training

Are You Ready?

Our free Basic Training Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area, and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Graduates learn skills to prepare for, respond to, and recover from major emergencies. Take all the classes or just a few. Be disaster ready!

Free Fall Basic Training

Our Free Fall Training begins September 2. All classes are on Wednesday evenings as follows:
Sept 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and Oct 7, 14, 21 6pm-9:30pm
All classes are held at the Martinez Senior Center, 818 Green St. Martinez.

Skill Exercises

Basic Training concludes with three Saturday exercises to practice new skills. These exercises will be held at the City Hall Complex, 525 Henrietta St. Martinez. Both current and former students are welcome.

  1. CERT Basic Basic Radio Skills, Saturday, Oct 24, 8am – 12pm
    Train how to properly operate FRS/GMRS radios for use in a drill or disaster response.
  2. CERT Practical Disaster Exercise Saturday, Nov 7, 8am – 1pm
    This is an exercise for CERT graduates to practice new skills.
  3. Final Drill Nov 14, 8am – 1am
    Graduation/ DSW exercise
