Our Martinez Area CERT Leadership
Martinez Area CERT currently has a three party leadership structure, with Administrative, Training/Educational, and Operations Leaders. Currently, leadership terms are one year, starting July 1. Acting Administrative Leader: David Dyche
- This is an open position
- Working with Support Staff, schedules and hosts most CERT meetings
- Working with Support Staff, requests & prepares Agenda items for meetings
- Working with Support Staff, maintains all CERT personnel records and data files
- Reviews and schedules all public events (or delegates)
- Attends all CERT involved public events (or delegates)
- Attends outside CERT liaison meetings (or delegates)
- Recruits and trains an assistant or team, meets with them regularly
- Meets regularly with other two Leaders to coordinate activities
- Develops a working budget
Training & Education Leaders: Lucinda Cartwright and David Dyche
- Manages all basic and in-service CERT training
- Coordinates all training equipment needs through Ops
- Schedules training classes, assigns instructors, and mentors instruction
- Updates training materials and curriculum as needed with support
- Working w/ Support Staff, coordinates all class registrations and related records
- Attends drills and response activities to monitor training needs
- Coordinates requests for outside training or instructors
- Attends meetings as needed
- Recruits and trains an assistant or team, meets with them regularly
- Meets with other two Leaders regularly to coordinate activities
- Develops a working budget
Operations: Steve Fisher
- Manages CERT operational response to events and disaster
- Coordinates all operational response training and drills
- Approves response plans and equipment requests
- Responsible for Trailer driver certification and practice
- Maintains CERT Trailers, equipment, and annual inventory
- Responsible for CERT Communications equipment
- Works with Zone Coordinators for their equipment needs
- Attends events & meetings as necessary
- Recruits and trains an assistant or team, meets with them regularly
- Meets with other two Leaders regularly to coordinate activities
- Develops a working budget
Steering Committee Meetings
The Steering Committee meets monthly on the first Tuesday at 7pm. All Martinez CERT members are invited to attend and offer input into the running of the CERT program.
