2021 Bike The Bridges

Our Martinez Area CERT team volunteered Sunday October 10 to staff traffic management and registration services at the 12th Annual 2021 Bike The Bridges and BrewFest event. The event was a sell-out with over 400 bike riders participating in this popular fund raiser for The Special Olympics. The CERT team was on-site at 6am directing traffic, keeping the bike riders out of harm’s way and staffing the registration desk. The four scenic bike routes began and ended at Waterfront Park in Martinez and encompassed sweeping views of the Carquinez and Benicia Bridges. This event brings the community together to raise money for programs that provide sports training, education in our schools about acceptance and respect, as well as health resources promoting fitness to Special Olympics athletes in our community.
