On November 16, 2019, from 09:00 – 12:00, Martinez CERT will be part of a county-wide exercise to test our radio communication links all the way from local CERT teams to the CoCo County Emergency Operations Center. This exercise will give all of us an opportunity to practice how we would organize in a major event and how well we can communicate up and down the chain. If you would like to participate, please contact one of the coordinators listed in this post.

Our final CERT Training exercise was held at the lovely and spacious Community Center in Brentwood on Saturday, 26 October. Everyone who needed help were rescued and treated with our first aid skills. Fires were extinguished, cribbing was built and bodies moved to safety, and paperwork was completed.
Well done, new CERT volunteers!

We’re joining other local CERT programs for our final Disaster Training Exercise at the Brentwood Community Center on Saturday, Oct. 26, starting at 7am. All CERT-trained volunteers are welcome to participate!

We’ve heard it before: practice, practice, practice! When you don’t have time to think, your practice time will kick in and help keep you safe. Feel the shake? Drop, cover, and hold on!

A group of our CERT members got a walking tour of the facilities at our local Coroner’s Office. Our tour guide, Deputy Richards, answered all of the varied questions that we asked.
