A story of emergency response and basic first aid from our friend Rusty, an early Martinez CERT member who recently moved away. “What a Friday night! We were finishing up after dinner when a frantic ring at our door bell caused me to rush out. A lady from next door was yelling for help!”

Our CERT Instructor and District 10 Coordinator has written a research paper in which she uses Martinez as a study in fire safety measures and practices. The west side of town is in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone (according to Cal Fire). What does this mean for the residents of the area?
